Heavenly Essence QiGong
There are many different forms of Qigong practice and exercises. In general, those practicing Qigong focus on building up their health and prevent illness by combining discipline of mind, body and the body's "Qi" (vital force). This internal energy exploration requires consistent practice and is much accellerated when learned and studied in a community.
Master Zhang Hongbao, developed Heavenly Essence QiGong in the 1980's. Also known as Tianhua QiGong or Zhong Gong QiGong, this form of Qigong combines elements of Medical, Martial, Buddhist, Daoist and Confucius QiGong systems. During the height of QiGong practice in China, the Heavenly Essence QiGong school reported up to 38 million students, making it one of the biggest QiGong schools in China.
In 2006, I met Liping Zhu, licensed acupuncturist and teacher of the Heavenly Essence QiGong system. Having studied the principles and practice of this simple system, I have a firm grasp on the elements of QiGong that are vital to Qi development and preservation in the body.
I am currently guiding two public practice sessions at the Lake Merritt
